Description
Selecting the right diamond drill/diamond drill bit parameters, often involves a trial and error process.
Many which can be avoided through experience and understanding of how to use these parameter
for your specific application. What works for one application, may not work for another. While there is no real substitute for experience, even new diamond drill/bit users can quickly become proficient by learning and
applying some basic principles of diamond drilling. Many parts of this guide have been published or presented in several industry magazines or presented at conventions.
A template is made by drilling a pilot hole in a piece of soft wood or plastic, using the diamond
core drill bit or by cutting a "V" in the edge of a piece of wood or plastic or drilling a hole in it the
size of the core drill. The hole template works best, however, the "V" template is easier to make
and can be used with many sizes of core drill bits.
Templates are often made of 1/8" plexiglass, 1/8" pressed wood or even cardboard. For repetitive
drilling, a plastic or plexiglass template works best since water lubrication can be used immediately.
The template is placed on the surface of the material being drilled, with the pilot hole or "V" above
the target hole area. The template will hold the core drill bit in place as it starts. After just a few revolutions of the drill bit, a groove is created and the template can be removed.
Advanced industrial diamond
The four series of industrial diamond as follow:
CDP Series
Characteristics: Good shape, narrow distribution and clean.
Application field: Conventional lapping, grinding and polishing of electroplated workpieces.
FDP Series
Characteristics: Improved from CDP products, better performance in PSD, shape and purity
after multiple treating measures.
Appliction field: Conventional lapping, grinding and polishing of optical objects, magnet heads,
HDD, gems and electroplated articles.
SFDP Series
Characteristics: Outstanding in dispersibility and purity. Perfect control of oversizes.
Appliction field: Superfine surface treatment and superhigh quality products.
HDP Series
Characteristics: Selecting high intensity diamond as the raw material, which inherits lots of
outstanding features such as less internal impurities, low impurity, high removal and grinding
rates.
Application field: PCD, Ceramic polishing, Processing hard and fragile material, etc.
