Optical Fiber Composite Ground Wire(OPGW)
1. Central Stainless Tube Type
a. Small cable diameter, light weight, low additional load to poles/towers
b. The stainless steel tube fiber unit is placed in the center of the strand layer
c. Obtaining appropriate fiber excess length(primary)within stainless tube
d. With single armouring the OPGW has a bit poor flexure and crush resistance, and a bit poor tensile strength
e. Obtaining the best balance of electric and mechanic performance by adjusting AA/SS combination
note: Multi layer armouring, SUS or SUSP OP-Unit are vailable as required
2. Layer Stranding Stainless Tube Type
a. Typically having larger cable diameter
b. The stainless steel tube fiber unit is placed in an eccentric position and is stranded together with Al-clad steel wires or Al-alloy wires simultaneously
c. The Al-clad steel wires placed in the inner layer can provide the freedom from rust, high reliability and long life
d. Optimum stranding design, making secondary fiber excess length available
e. Good flexure and crush resistance
f. Providing very high mechanical strength and large short-circuit current capacity
g. Obtaining the best balance of electric and mechanic performance by adjusting AA/SS Combination
3. Central Sealed Al-Covered Stainless Tube Type
a. Extremely good corrosion resistance
b. Improved lightning resistance and fault current
c. Two tube design superior protection to the optical fiber from moisture and horizontal fluid penetration resistance
d. Small diameter, light weight, compact design
e. No anticorrosion grease, clean environment, longer life
4. Compressed Layer Wires Lightning Resistant Type
a. Extremely improved lightning resistant properties
b. Reduce inner layer diameter , extremely increase outer layer wires diameter
c. Compact design, fully using cross-section
d. Available for central structure, Single or multi layer stranding wires application
