2304 stainless steel (Chinese brand: 00Cr23Ni4N) is developed in Sweden of a low alloy dual phase stainless steel, its solid solution treatment temperature of about 1000 DEG C, the organization has 40% - 50% iron 50% - 60% ferrite and austenite, has the common features of the duplex stainless steel, as a steel with high strength and low cost characteristics, can replace 304L and 316L austenitic stainless steel and the development.

The PRE value of SAF2304 duplex stainless steel is 25, which is comparable with that of 316L stainless steel. At the 300mV potential, the relationship between the critical pitting corrosion temperature (CPT) and the chloride content of several steels in NaCl solution was found, and the CPT value of ASF2304 duplex stainless steel was higher than that of 304L, and the 316L was equivalent to that of. The test results of several kinds of steel in the neutral chloride solution of high pressure autoclave have found that the applied stress is equal to the yield strength of the steel under the temperature, the test time is 1000h, and the area under the curve is not the stress corrosion cracking. In addition, the intergranular corrosion resistance of SAF2304 dual phase steel is good, which can be tested by the CuSO4+H2SO4 method. SAF2304 dual phase steel in nitric acid has a good corrosion resistance, can be comparable with 304L, in other acids, such as sulfuric acid, its corrosion resistance is equivalent to 316L, while in organic acids, such as formic acid, or even better than 316L.
