Carburetant is the additional additive used mainly in iron casting and smelting etc.To use carburetant in iron casting and smelting can greatly increase the consumption of steel scrap, reduce the consumption of pig iron, or don’t even use pig iron, it can also greatly reduce the impurities in the pig iron and producing castings costs.

From the raw materials of producing carburetant, it is classified as follows:

-  Artificial graphite – the best carburetant, but the price is very high. It should be the first choice in smelting of nodular cast iron to improve the quality of cast iron.

-  Natural graphite – usually do not used as carburetant due to impurity and high cost.

- Coke and anthracite – seldom used due to high content of ash and volatile components.

- Petroleum coke – widely used in steelmaking, foundry, iron casting and smelting etc.
