PVDC wrap Product Description
Commonly known as PVDC, Polyvinylidene chloride is a water-based coating which is generally applied to BOPP films and Polyester films. By the application of this coating, there is an increase in the barrier characteristics of the product which stops the inflow of outside air in the product increasing its shelf life. To maximise the shelf life of the product is the one of the most vital reasons of applying PVDC coated films on the products. PVDC coated films give a high gloss finish to the product.
To produce PVDC wrap, advanced skills and technology are needed. With excellent transparency and glossiness, PVDC wrap is widely used in households and restaurants. Different from the ordinary plastic wrap, PVDC wrap is able to use in micro oven. It is extremely popular in Japan and has been widely accepted in its consumer market. In China, the concern about plasticizers in PVC-based wrap has been raised recently. As a result, there is a tendency that more cooperation and households are changing to use PVDC wrap.
PVDC wrap Product Characteristics:
- Able to use in micro oven. Usable temperature range: -60℃ to 140℃.
- Excellent resists to oxygen, water, bases, acids and solvents.
- PE wrap does not possess the same barrier qualities to oxygen, aroma, and flavor molecules that PVDC wrap do.

b) Product Thickness: 8μm - 11μm
c) Product Length: As required. Mainly 10m, 15m, 20m, 30m, 50m, 100m.
PVDC wrap Application
Sealing food items in containers to keep them fresh over a longer period of time. Some of the products where PVDC coating is used are bakery products, biscuits and cookies packets, milk and dairy products, dried fruits, meat and fresh products, confectioneries and sweets.
