Steel Wire Welded Mesh
Welded wire mesh used for the reinforcement of concrete, is manufactured to 1024:2006 and to other international standard specifications. Meantime we can customise sheet sizes and lapping requirements according to particular client needs. Reinforcing mesh is a convenient and cost effective alternative to conventional bar reinforcement for the following reasons :
* The mesh is generally specified and manufactured according to standard references making for easy site identification, quality control and management.
* The mesh is manufactured in sheets or rolls resulting in a quick and simple site installation process.
Product Process:
* Mittal steel with medium-low carbon mild steel rod
* The mild steel rod is cold rolled by our company to the required diameter to form high tensile wire
* The high tensile wires are welded into a rectangular mesh grid fabric
Features
* Versatile
* Lightweight
* Minimises wastage
* Can be handled by one person
* Safe and legal to transport
* Welded mesh reinforcement can be detailed as either flat or bent sheets, depending on the job requirements
* Welded mesh fabric reinforcement considerably reduces construction time
* The cold-rolled deformed wire used in welded mesh fabric has a characteristic strength (0.2% proof stress) a minimum of 485MPa compared to 450MPa for high tensile rebar. Fabric may be used at higher stresses than high tensile rebar resulting in a material saving of up to 8%.
Applications:
Steel Wire Welded Mesh are the most commonly used form of prefabricated reinforcement and is particularly suitable for flat slab construction and concrete surface beds. Other designed applications include:
* Retaining and shear walls
* Beams and columns
* Concrete paving overlays
* Precast concrete elements
* Suspended floor slabs
* Swimming pool and gunite construction
