¨         Measurement methods are based on DIN 67 510 - Part 2, January 1992

¨         IMO A 752(18)published in 1993 by the International Maritime Organization, requiring low location lighting system on board passenger ships carrying more than 36 passengers.

 

III Testing Methods

¨       Flame retardant

Taking off the back adhesive paper, lighting up the safety sign, taking the fire source

away from it, the product will quench by itself.

¨       Back glue

We use pressure-sensitive glue, put the back of your hand on the glue by certain pressure, you can feel the strength of the glue.

¨       Afterglow brightness simple testing

Allow the safety sign absorb any visible light for 30 min., put the product in a completely dark room, you can examine the initial brightness at the first 5 seconds, then after 10 min., 30 min. and 60 min., you go and watch again.

 

Installation recommendation

²           Continuous way-finding photoluminescent safety sign should be installed in stairs, exits, escape doors, etc., above 300mm ground level, including escape route in corners and cross.

²           All exits should install such safety signs, within 300mm from the bottom side of door handle.

²           All gangways, except those which separated by corridor and doors, should install such safety signs in  the wall within 300mm above deck or in the deck from a distance of 150mm to the wall.

²           For those corridors whose width exceed 2 meters, continuous safety signs should be installed at both sides.

²           Direction arrows should be used combined with other safety signs for those one-side corridor, directed the open side of the corridor every 1 meter.

²           Safety signs should be installed at least in one side , 300 mm above the stairs. Make anyone easy to understand the position. Obvious safety signs should be installed to indicate at the top and bottom end of the stairs.

²           Safety signs should be used to indicate all kinds of fire fighting equipment, safety equipment, important pipeline, doors, valves, etc.

²           For Low-location lighting system, the width of the safety signs are at least 75mm.
