CO2 laser works by targeting both the epidermis and dermis. It delivers a 10600nm laser energy into the skin of treated area through the light guide arm. With the CO2 laser the epidermal pigment cells are expelled and the penetration of collagen in the dermis will causes remodeling and new collagen formation. It’s a must equipment for all size of hospitals and beauty salons. Because CO2 lasers operate in the infrared, it has a very high power density and it can be focused into a small area. So there is no damage to the collateral tissues. The penetration depth can be controlled through the laser output power.
