1.3.2 About Variable Speed Drive Varistors for Surge Protection or Capacitors Used to Improve the Power Factor Don't connect any varistor or capacitor to the output terminals of the drive, because the drive's output voltage waveform is pulse wave. Tripping or damage to components may occur as shown in Figure1-1.

Circuit breakers connected to the output of the drive If circuit breaker or contactor needs to be connected between the drive and the motor, be sure to operate these circuit breakers or contactor when the drive has no output to avoid damaging of the drive. Using host communication function When the parameters are modified frequently through host communication function, improper command will result in erasable memory damaged. If no need to save uponpower-off, please do not use 0x41 command. Please refer to Appendix 2. Using outside rated voltage The drive is not suitable to be used out of the specified range of operation voltage. If needed, please use suitable voltage regulation device. Protection against lightning strike There are transient surge suppressors inside the drive that protect it against lighting strike. Derating due to Altitude Derating must be considered when the drive is installed at high altitude, greater than 1000m. This is because the cooling effect of the drive is less effective in the thin air. Figure1-2 that shows the relationship between the altitude and rated current of the drive.
