STAINLESS STEEL CONSERVATION
1. Clean frequently with a cleaner and water. Any cleaner that is safe for glass is usually safe for stainless steel.
2. Scrub off all rust from these objects with a scrubbing pad or steel wood pad. This means getting rid of rust from pots and pans before putting them into a stainless steel sink or on top of a stainless steel stove. 3. Put a rubber mat at the bottom of the stainless steel sink before placing rusted pots and pans (such as cast iron cookware) in the sink. 4. Apply a thin layer of lubricant (such as mineral oil) to the surface of the stainless steel. This prevents rust from forming.
316 stainless steel coil
Instruction:
316 stainless steel is a versatile stainless steel material, anti-rust performance stronger than
the 200 series stainless steel. High temperature also relatively good, the general temperature
limit is less than 650 °C.
316 stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance and good
resistance to intergranular corrosion. On the oxidizing acid, in the experiment: the concentration
of ≤ 65% of the boiling temperature of nitric acid,
316 stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion.
Alkali solution and organic acids and inorganic acids also have good corrosion resistance.
Feature
316 stainless steel mechanical propertiesl
Tensile strength σb (MPa) ≥ 520
Conditions yield strength σ0.2 (MPa) ≥ 205
Elongation δ5 (%) ≥ 40
Section shrinkage ψ (%) ≥ 60
Hardness: ≤ 187HB; ≤ 90HRB; ≤ 200HV
Hot rolled steel plates are appropriate for construction works, oil & rig industry, pipe Industry, machinery industry, ship building Industry and other downstream industries. Moreover we also provide sales executives and engineer team for giving the products information to the customers.
2. 316 stainless steel coil Physical Properties :
Corrosion Resistance of StainlessSteel 316
Stainless steel 316 has excellent corrosion resistance in a wide variety of environments and when in contact with different corrosive media. Pitting and crevice corrosion can occur in environments containing chlorides. Stress corrosion cracking can occur at temperatures over 60°C.
Heat Resistance of Stainless Steel 316
Stainless steel 316 has good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service up to 870°C and in continuous service to 925°C. However, continuous use at 425-860°C is not recommended if corrosion resistance in water is required. In this instance 316 is recommended due to its resistance to carbide precipitation.
Where high strength is required at temperatures above 500°C and up to 800°C, grade 304H is recommended. This material will retain aqueous corrosion resistance.
Fabrication of Stainless Steel 316
Fabrication of all stainless steels should be done only with tools dedicated to stainless steel materials. Tooling and work surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned before use. These precautions are necessary to avoid cross contamination of stainless steel by easily corroded metals that may discolour the surface of the fabricated product.
Cold Working of Stainless Steel 316
Stainless steel 316 readily work hardens. Fabrication methods involving cold working may require an intermediate annealing stage to alleviate work hardening and avoid tearing or cracking. At the completion of fabrication a full annealing operation should be employed to reduce internal stresses and optimise corrosion resistance.
Hot Working of Stainless Steel 316
Fabrication methods, like forging, that involve hot working should occur after uniform heating to 1149-1260°C. The fabricated components should then be rapidly cooled to ensure maximum corrosion resistance.
Heat Treatment of Stainless Steel 316
Stainless steel 316 cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
Solution treatment or annealing can be done by rapid cooling after heating to 1010-1120°C.
Machinability
Stainless steel 316 has good machinability. Machining can be enhanced by using the following rules:
Welding of Stainless Steel 316
Fusion welding performance for Stainless steel 316 is excellent both with and without fillers. Recommended filler rods and electrodes for stainless steel 316 is grade 308 stainless steel. For 316l the recommended filler is 308L. Heavy welded sections may require post-weld annealing. This step is not required for 316.
