High speed Needle bearings are roller bearings with cylindrical rollers which are thin and long in relation to their diameter. They are also referred to as needle rollers. In spite of their smaller cross section, the bearings provide stronger capability of load. Thus they are proper for the situation that radial space is limited.

The profile of the needle rollers has a slight contraction at the proximal needle surface. The self-regulation of the needle rollers and the raceway can avoid the destructive edge stress.
