1 Overview

 

Cable climbing robot was designed as frame structure with multiple rolling-wheel. It successfully resolve other products’ weakness such as lack of climb ability, hold cable tension is not been adjustable, no adaption to different diameter cables. It can climb the cable of 90 degree without sticking and slipping. The robot loads four HD cameras or X ray cameras to take the photo of the cable with 360 degree, then transfer the photo to computer, and then analyze the data. The robot can been used in maintaining the bridge such as Hangzhou Bay Bridge, Mingzhou Bridge, Yongjiang bridge, and Xiangshan Port Bridge, and Zhoushan Sea-Crossing Bridge. Its job includes detecting, cleaning, painting. Testing Technology Research Institute has tested the robot, and said that “The performance meet the requirements, and the technology has reached the domestic and globe leading level.”
