Production Line Introduction
Cheese Cruls / Nik Naks / Kurkure / Cheetos are special extruded snacks, very crunchy and great in taste. They are made by a special extrusion process. The process is unique because every piece is varied in length and diameter giving a home made effect. The corn grists is moisturized in the vertical mixer with water and fed to the Rotary Head Extruder.
In the extruder, due to the two rotary plates made of brass, the corn grits are squeezed and twisted to form curls shape. The curls pass through the die and get cut but the cutting knives into required length.
The corn curls are fried in cooking oil or toasted in oven and then conveyed into a continuous coating drum. The retention time is controlled by the angle of the drum to suit the required levels of coating and required throughputs, to ensure a full and even coating. Seasonings are sprayed on the surface to improve their taste
