Characteristics of drip irrigation:
1,Water-saving;
Duly watering according to demand of crop,water is delivered through pipeline completely,humid region
is only the soil near the root of crops.There is no movement for water in the air,no wet on the leaves
surface,also no evaporation outside the effective wet area,therefore the loss of irrigation water is reduced markedly.
2,Fertilizer-saving;
It is very convenient to fertilize if combining with irrigation.That is to pour the dissolved chemical fertilizer
into irrigation system,combine the chemical fertilizer with irrigation water,so fertilizer nutrient is applied to the root of crops directly and evenly.As it is only small part of area control,less leakage of water and fertilizer,consumption of chemical fertilizer is saved and pollution reduction.
3,Labor-saving;
Drip irrigation system is controlled by valves manually or automatically,and combination with fertilizing,
therefore the input cost of labors is saved;And micro-irrigation is for small part near the root,most of land
surface keeps dry,weeds is reduced,this makes less cost on herbicide and labor on weeding;Fetilizer and
pesticide together with irrigation water is conveyed to the soil near the root through drip tapes,without human operation.

Working pressure of drip irrigation emmiters is 50~300Kpa,much lower than sprinkling irrigation,thus
it saves water compared with land surface irrigation,so drip irrigation reduces the consumption of energy.

As drip irrigation is localized wet,high of soil keeps dry on the land surface.To adopt drip
