Property: Almost close to colorless or light yellow liquid. S.g./density is 1.04-1.07(d20), B.p is 180°C/133.3Pa, Refractive Index is 1.4850-1.5100(20°C). Insoluble in water, soluble in many organic solvents including mineral oil and dichlorodifluoro -methane.
Uses: Piperonyl Butoxide (PBO) is one of the most outstanding synergists to increase pesticide effectiveness. Not only it can obviously increase pesticide's effect more than ten times, but also it can extend its effect period.

Stability: Essentially stable to hydrolysis at pH 5, 7 and 9 in sterile buffers in the dark at 25C. Rapidly degraded in aqueous solution (pH 7) in sunlight (DT50 8.4 h). F.p.: 140C (ASTM D93). Other properties Viscosity 40 cP (25C).
APPLICATIONS
Biochemistry: Inhibits mixed function oxidases (MFO) of the insect so that its natural detoxification system is blocked and the efficacy of applied insecticides is increased.
Uses: A synergist for the pyrethrins and related insecticides.
