  What is vermiculite?  

Vermiculite is the geological name given to a group of hydrated laminarminerals which are aluminium-iron-magnesium silicates.

  So what makes vermiculite so good?  

It has many benefits - these include:

- It is incombustible and can be used up to temperatures of 1,100°c.

- It is insoluble in water and organic solvents.

- It will absorb and hold a large number of liquids.

- It provides a great level of cushioning for inner packagings; securing them inside outer packagings during transport.

- It is non-flammable,odour-free.
