Raw/ Unexpanded/ Ore Perlite

Perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass that has a relatively high water content, typically formed by the hydration of obsidian.

During a process called “Expansion”, Perlite is rapidly heated and expands up to twenty times its original size, due to the evaporation of the moisture from within. Expanded Perlite is a lightweight, air entraining material, which is both absorbent and acts as a filter aid. It is sterile and both environmentally friendly and chemically neutral.
