Zhang County of Gansu has a long history of planting sea buckthorn,and Zhang County is one of the major producing areas of sea buckthorn in China.Sea buckthorn distributes everywhere in the whole country.For a long time,there have been natural sea buckthorn forests in Zhang County.At present,the sea buckthorn forests cover a total of 300 thousand mu,which ensures an adequate material supply.

Founded in July 2014, Gansu Alkog Sea-buckthorn Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. lies in Zhang County Industrial Park covering an area of 13500 m2. Now it has more than 100 employees and more than 20 million yuan of fixed assets. It has advanced CO2 above-critical sea-buckthorn oil extraction plant and perfect quality control and inspection means, and is a high tech enterprise incorporating production and sales.  As a subordinate enterprise managed by the Water Resources Department of Shaanxi Province, the Company has cooperated with the Government of Wuqi County, Shaanxi, to build a production base with an area of 200 mu for seabuckthorn, resulting in adequate supply of raw materials. In northern Shaanxi where the base is, the climate and soil are very suitable for growing seabuckthorn, which tends to yield high-quality fruits that are big, plum, natural, green and pollution-free. Seabuckthorn has high nutritional, ecological and economic values, and in particular, plays an important role in Three-North Shelterbelt Construction.
