Working principle
Horizontal type centrifugal sieve is a key equipment of hi-efficiency in modern starch processing line. It is used to separate fiber from slurry after rasping and desanding.
The slurry feed in horizontally from front side. Inside the sieve a conical screen rotates in a speed of 900-1000 rpm. Under strong centrifugal force the slurry is distributed onto the surface of screen evenly and starch milk is thrown through the screen, leaving fiber slides down with fruit juice under gravity. During the process, process water or fresh water is constantly flushing over the screen surface to turn fiber over. So starch is free and can be easily thrown through the screen. From the back of screen inside the sieve, there are nozzles back-flushing in a pre-setted time interval for cleaning the screen. For single sieve, the process capacity depends on screen diameter and motor power.
Main Function
Normally the sieving group works in 3 stages with a whole set of several machines. Each stage consists of one to several same-diameter sieves depending on process capacity. So the standard sieving group consists of 3 sieves in line. After the 3-stages sieving, all free starch is assumed to be extracted from slurry and pumped for next process.
