Postoperative care:

No water before scab off

Prohibitting scratch till scab off automatically

Avoide direct sunlight.do not eat spicy food and sea food

(1) What is the role of Laser in the treatment of spider veins?    

Laser is a gold standard treatment for spider veins.  The laser heats up the small vein and destroys it.

The laser beam is focused and does not damage the nearby skin tissue.Over a period of four to six weeks, the vein is reabsorbed by the body and disappears.

(2) How does the laser work?          

The laser enters the skin and penetrates the superficial blood vessel.The heat generated from the laser

coagulates the blood inside the vessel causing it to collapse and seal.  Over the next few weeks, the vessel will disappear

 and the body will reabsorb it.  The YAG laser allows the delivery of a precise dosage of energy to each 

bloodvessel  without injuring any nearby structures.

 (3) How do I know if I am a candidate for laser vein treatment?

 Almost everyone is a good candidate, however all individuals are evaluated prior to laser therapy.Candidates must have 

 light skin and no tanning the skin prior to treatment. Laser therapy is most effective for the very small spider veins and not 

 used to treat large varicose veins.

 (3) Is laser therapy painful?

(8) How long does it take to see results after the laser?

It largely depends on the size of the vessel.  If they are small, you can see instant results; if the vessel is larger, it may take

several treatments. 

(9) Are the results from laser treatments for spider veins permanent?

 While there is no cure for spider veins, once a vein is completely dead and reabsorbed by the body, it should be gone. 

 Due to many factors however, you could form new spider veins that might require touch up treatments.
