Principle of RF CO2 Fractional Laser

CO2 Fractional Laser System fires a laser beam which is split into numbers of microscopic beams, producing tiny dot or fractional treatment zones within the selected target area only. Therefore, the heat of laser only passes deeply through the fractional damaged area. This allows the skin to heal much faster than if the whole area was treated. The co2 laser uses a unique head piece which tracks the CO2 10.6 um wavelength light as it passes light through its optical lens to penetrate the skin. We can control the depth of the penetration from only a few micrometers in depth (only as deep as a few sheets of paper) to much deeper with tiny thermal channels. This will also determine the length of healing, the number of treatments and the cost. Each thermal channel creates a small micro-injury but does not significantly disturb or disrupt the surrounding tissue.

These microscopic injuries caused by the laser (around 15-20% of the treated area) are the beginning of the healing process. By creating thousands of these perforations underneath the skin, your epidermis layer starts to heal from the edge of these microscopic perforations very quickly. The CO2 laser with a specific wavelength of 10.6 nm can be absorbed by human body tissue (no matter what color the skin is) by nearly 100%. Through laser emitter, the micropulsed laser beam shoots on the target skin in nanometer level to achieve a controllable precise treatment .The dimension of shooting area only can be measured in nanometer, which is precise enough for operators to control and adjust the treated depth andlayer according to the clinical diagnosis.
