How Cold is CoolShape?
A study looked at the temperature of the skin surface and the fat at a point 1.5cm below the surface during a 60 minute CoolShape application.The skin surface dropped in temperature steadily during the 60 minutes until it was at an average of 12.3c/54f (+/ 2.6c).The underlying fat temperature dropped for the first 30 minutes to around 13c/55f then cooled more slowly for the final 30 minutes to around 10c/50f. It's interesting to note that the skin temperature was warmer than the underlying fat.
What happens to the fat cells?
During the procedure, exposure to cooling causes fat cell apoptosis, which leads to the release of fat layer. The fat cells in the treated area are gently eliminated through the body's normal metabolism process, much like fat from food.
Will treating the distance be painful?
With this non-invasive procedure, there is no need for anesthesia or pain medications, and no recovery time. The procedure is comfortable for most patients can read, work on their laptop computer, listen to music or just relax.

What does it feel like? Does it hurt?
The CoolShape procedure can be a little chilly. Controlled cooling is delivered via an applicator to freeze the targeted fat. Though you may feel intense cold initially, this feeling usually subsides within 5 minutes as the area numbs. Because most applicators use a vacuum to draw fatty tissue into the applicator cup, you may also feel some pulling, tugging, and/or mild pinching.
Are there any side effects?
During the procedure, you may feel some deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness or discomfort. After the procedure, typical side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and pain. Many patients do experience redness in the treated areas for up to a few hours after the applicator is removed. In rare cases, this redness may persist up to 2 weeks, but it will completely resolve itself.
Are the results permanent?
When you have your Coolshape Procedure, the treated fat cells will be eliminated permanently. As long as you maintain your weight with your normal diet and exercise, your long-term results should remain stable. And you have your body back.
