Work Theory:

Microneedle roller contains 192 medical grade gold needles , can be used on any part of your skin.Its application principle is by way of the stimulation the dermis layer of collagen and fibroblast proliferation, because of microneedle stimulation, may remove the wrinkle and the improvement skin texture. By rolling the microneedle roller on the skin, micro punctures and channels are created.

How to use?

1. Clean: cleaning the face by common method.

Notice:

Never share a derma roller with anyone else for hygiene reasons .

How to clean derma roller?

0.2mm or 0.25mm derma roller:
After each use, soak the derma roller for ten minutes in a mixture of warm water and dishwashing liquid, air-dry.

0.5mm and above:
Wash the derma roller in warm water and dishwashing liquid, taking great care not ti bend the needles. Then soak it in disinfecting alcohol for 20 minutes. Discard the alcohol, air-dry. Put back into container. Keep the container clean with hot water but do not use any cloth or sponge to clean it since those are full of bacteria.

How often to use roll the skin?
Rules of thumb:
1. 0.2mm or 0.25mm roller can be used every second day.
2. 0.5mm roller can be used once a week. 
3. 1.0mm roller can be used once per three weeks.
4. 1.5mm and above roller should not be used more often than once every 5 weeks.

What does the treatment involve?

The practitioner will apply an anesthetic cream to your skin for 45-60 minutes before your treatment to numb the treatment area. The treatment involves the Dermaroller being rolled over the problem area to produce thousands of micro-medical needle punctures in the skin. This controlled damage to the skin surface is not deep enough to elicit a scarring response however it will cause the body to have a milder healing response. The nearby tissue is broken down and new elastin and collagen are formed. This way scarring, lines, wrinkles and pigmentation are all gently removed, being replaced over time with new scar free skin. The practitioners can control the depth of needling to achieve the best result – they can go as deep as 1.5mm on the face, which has proven successful in removing scars, and as deep as 3mm on the body. The practitioner will assess how deep or superficial they need to go.

What areas can be treated?

Dermaroller can be used on any part of the body. The most common area to be treated is the face for acne scars or to treat fine lines and wrinkles. The Dermaroller is also used to treat lines and wrinkles on the neck, décolletage and the backs of hands.

Does the treatment hurt?

The treatment is relatively pain free and the anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand to reduce any discomfort that may be caused.

How long does the treatment take?

The dermaroller treatment takes 20-30 minutes depending on the area that is being treated. The face usually takes about 20 minutes. The neck takes approximately a further ten minutes. Dermaroller for the hand and décolletage take 10 to 15 minutes for each area.

How many treatments will I need?

We recommend a course of four treatments approximately 6-8 weeks apart to achieve the best results.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects of Dermaroller are minimal. The acne scarring, or area being treated, may look red, similar to moderate sunburn. This will settle within a few hours and the skin will look normal by the next day. In a very small percentage of people it can take 48 hours for the redness to fully settle. During this period camouflage or foundation can be used.

What aftercare is required?

After your Dermaroller treatment your practitioner will put on a barrier repair cream to encourage the repair of the skin. A sunscreen is also recommended to wear between treatments. This helps protect the skin and provide optimum conditions for the skin to repair itself.

How soon will I see the results?

It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.

In the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary for your practitioner to extend your Dermaroller procedure, carrying out up to five procedures.

How long will the results last?

The results from a dermaroller treatment are permanent. As it is a repair of the skin it does not revert after a given time period. Dermaroller for fine lines and wrinkles will improve the skin; however it will not stop skin ageing and new lines forming.
