Virgin Coconut oil is an edible oil extracted from the kernel or meat of fresh matured coconuts harvested from the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). It has various applications in food, medicine, comestic,fine chemical and industry. Because of its high saturated fat content it is slow to oxidize and, thus, resistant to rancidification, lasting to two years without spoiling.

       Many health organizations advise against the consumption of high amounts of coconut oil due to its high levels of saturated fat.

       Virgin coconut oil can be extracted through "dry" or "wet" processing.  In "wet" processing, strictly control the temperature within 40℃ With the method of mechanical press to get fresh coconut crude oil, then, according a series of  other process, at last through the centrifuge separates to harvest the "virgin coconut oil". 

Disadvantages of "dry" processing:

       The meat of coconut is very easy to stick dirt, sand, and reduce quality during the natural drying process, Unsanitary situation is more likely to occur in the transportation, therefore copra usually moldy, discolored, or even deterioration, Finally reducing the quality of the VCO.If this VCO using in the food industry, need to add extra chemicals, and chemical residues can not be completely removed.      

Advantages of "wet" process are as follows:

          1. Without high-temperature heating, no adding the chemical substances. 

         2. Maximum retained the coconut oil original nutritional and functional ingredients.

        3. Retained the fragrance of coconut, with the characteristics of natural products.

       4. Processing capacity is big, daily processing capacity is more than 20000 coconuts.

      5. High production efficiency, saving labor costs and reduce labor intensity.

       Generally the model GF (3 phase, liquid-liquid-solid separation) of FUYI tubular separator be used in order to obtain the pure virgin coconut oil.         Tubular separator is consisted of main body, driving device, bowl collecting pan and liquid-in bearing seats.    

      The coconut crude oil is fed through the bottom, the bowl of the centrifuge rotates around its axis and forms a strong centrifugal forceand the centrifugal force separates the suspension into liquids and solid. Heavy solid is deposited on the inner wall of the bowl, and forms the sludge, then it will be discharged by manual after the machine stops. The clear liquid flows out of outlet from the top of the bowl.      

      The motor connect with the big pulley and delivery the power to the spindle through the belt, tensioner and small pulley and rotate with the bowl in high-speed as the clockwise. The material is sprayed onto the bowl from the inlet on the bottom and strong centrifuge force is formed when the bowl rotates with the material and that makes the material flow upper along the wall of the bowl and then separated because of the different gravity by the centrifuge force.
