Product Introduction:

The production of steel is the largest consumer of ferrochrome, especially the production of stainless steel with chromium content of 10 to 20% is the main application of ferrochrome. Stainless steel depends on chrome for its appearance and its corrosion resisting properties. High Carbon Ferro Chrome is most commonly used in specialist applications such as engineering steels. Low Carbon Ferro Chrome is used for trimming additions in stainless steel production as well as other specialist applications. It is added by stainless steel producers in the last stages of production to add precise amounts of chrome without affecting the carbon levels.

There are five kinds of ferrochrome according to its different content of chrome, high carbon FeCr, middle carbon FeCr, low carbon FeCr, micro-carbon FeCr, super fine carbon FeCr.

Chrome is mainly used to improve the antioxidation and corrosion resistance of steel to make the surface of steelafter it is oxidized to form strong adhension oxide film. Then it stops being oxidized or decelerates being oxidized. Micro-carbon ferro chrome is applied to making stainless steel, acid-resistant steel and heat resistant steel .

2. As a kind of steel addition, it is used to produce various special steels with high strength, corrosion resistance, anti-friction, thermo stability and anti-oxydic. Such as stainless steel, acid-resistant steel, heat-resistant steel, spring steel, tool steel and so on. 
3. Chromite is used to produce Chrome brick, Chrome magnesium brick and other special refractories in fireproofing.
