Valve ceramic core

 

This kind of ceramic valve core used in lever mixer tap of the water fitting. The configuration of the ceramic rotary slide valve provides a reliable function there. Dimensional stability as well as stable tribological properties ensure impermeability and free movement of the valve over a long period of time.
When used for fittings, ceramic materials offer advantages with regards to:

 

Wear resistance: The high hardness of the materials of around 15.000 HV10 provides a high resistance both in sliding wear and impact wear.

 

Chemical resistance: Oxide ceramic is an inert material which is resistant against a multitude of media.

 

Temperature resistance: Aluminum oxide has a maximum working temperature of 1700°C.

 

Dimensional stability: The low thermal expansion makes the components very stable. This property also prevents any deformation of the components during operation.

 

Tribology (friction /wear): Aluminum oxide is a material with excellent sliding friction coefficients.

The typical designs that have established themselves for ceramic valves in practice are spherical valves, rotary slide valves, linear slide valves, control pistons, dosing pistons and valve seats.
