1, SMS support for residual credit:
99% of Italian and European SIM card are pre-paid. This means that the credit would be expired and you won't know what's going on, unless you get the sim card out of the gsm fwt and test it on a cell phone. This function works like this:
- Send a SMS with your cell phone to the sim card inside the 8818 FWT in format: "CREDIT, xxxx, <command>" where “xxxx” is the sms number of the operator and <command> is the command to check the residual credit;
- The 8818 FWT will receive this sms from you and then forwards the <command> to the “xxxx” number;
- The 8818 FWT will receive back the sms from the operator
- The 8818 FWT will forward thE sms to your cell phone.
***Please mind the sms string must be separated by ','***
***If the operator no response within 3 minutes, the 8818 FWT will not forward sms to you***
2, Incoming sms support for alarm panels:
Currently our alarm panels don’t support sms control, it supports telephone control:
Call the 8818 FWT, key password through your cell phone keyboard and then give a command. All of these need second dial (DTMF commands). Our idea is to let the 8818 FWT simulate the phone call by sending proper DTMF commands to the alarm panel.
For example, currently the telephone control works like:
- Call the 8818 FWT, the alarm panel will ring 5-7 times and answer the phone call with a beep;
- Caller hears the beep from cell phone and then keys the password, for example keys “0000” on the cell phone keyboard.
- The panel will acknowledge the password with a beep;
- Caller gives a command with a DTMF keyboard key;
- The panel acknowledge the command.
- Caller hang up the phone.
These can be easily simulated like:
- Use cell phone to send SMS to 8818 FWT’S SIM card like: "COMMAND, <password>, <command>"
- The 8818 FWT will receive it and simulate a phone call to the alarm panels, which is connected to its RJ11 outlet;
- When the alarm panel answer the 8818 FWT, 8818 will send <passowrd> and then the <command>, finally end the processing.
- A SMS will be sent back to the cell phone after steps above finished.
***Such simulation should be easy since all industrial gsm modules support SMS***.

3, We have 2 relays:
A, The first relay: this is clean-contact relay (7 Ampere):
This relay can be used to turn on/off the Air conditioning, lights and others by SMS. You can trigger this output by sms like "DOMOTICA ON" will turn it on, "DOMOTICA OFF will turn it off". This function is not designed for alarm panel.
8818 will send back SMS "relay turn on." or "relay turn off." if command accept.
B, The second relay: normally closed relay output for low battery OR normally closed relay output for no gsm signal:
If there is no GSM signal for more than x minutes (x can be set), then this output will be triggered. This can be used to reveal GSM jamming made by a thief. This output can be connected to the alarm panel by wire. The relay also have function that, if the internal battery of the 8818 power low, it will trigger this output.
