How to Make BJD Wigs?
1. Wefts are the strands of hair attached to the wig (skip this section if the hair you bought came in wefts). Start by placing some of the hair fiber flat with one end lined up. If you have trouble getting it straight, put a weight across the fiber and cut off the ends of the hair.
2. Tape the straight edge of the hair fiber to a working surface.
3. Squeeze a line of caulk straight across the hair fibers at the edge of the masking tape. Wet your finger and smooth out the caulk.
4. Once the caulk has dried, pull the masking tape off of your working surface--but not off of the hair fibers--and flip the hair over.
5. Squeeze another line of caulk on the hair, on the opposite side of the first line, and smooth it out like you did before.
6. Let the caulk dry, and cut off the masking tape above the line of caulk.
7. Repeat these steps several times until you have the desired number of wefts to attach to the wig cap.
8. Hair is attached to the wig cap either by doing a whip stitch or by gluing it down. Using either method, attach a hair weft to the base of the wig cap, starting at the nape of the neck. The weft should be facing up with the hair hanging down below it. Do this until you've made a circle all the way around.
9. Attach another hair weft about one-quarter of an inch above the previous weft. Repeat this until you're one-half of an inch away from where you want the part to be.
10. Attach the final wefts facing the opposite direction so that the wefts are pointing down and the hair folds over them. Attach the final wefts in a straight line next to each other to create a part. If you don't want your wig to have a part, attach the final weft in a tight spiral at the top of the wig.
11. Rinse the wig under cold water and let it dry.
