RF combiner/Hybrid coupler
An RF combiner, also known as an RF power combiner, refers to a device that can combine several incoming signals together and transmit one output signal. An RF splitters works in an opposite way by splitting one input signal into several signals. When the transformer technology is applied, an RF combiner or splitter is viewed as an RF hybrid.
Let’s go back to RF combiners. An RF combiner, which is used in many RF applications, can be divided into several types at different angles-power level, the number of input signals, and how it combines signals (in phase or out of phase).
As per the number of input signals, If two signals are added together at one output, you can call it a 2-way combiner. Calculated as the way, a combiner falls into 3-way, 4-way, 6-way, 8-way, 9-way, 12-way, and so on.
