Galvanized Steel Wire used as overhead ground wire or static wire on transmission lines, as pole or structure guy wires.
Standards
ASTM B498, BS443, GB/T 3428, DIN 48200, JIS C3110, etc
Applications
1. The galvanized steel wire strand is used for overhead ground lines or electrical power transmission lines.
2.Stay or guy wire strands are produced for use with poles, towers, or any other form of guying. They can be used for telephones , power and CATV sets.
Construction
Concentrically stranded galvanized steel strand. Available in classes "A", "B" and "C" galvanizing, "A" being the least heavy and "C" being the most heavy. Available in five grades of strength: common, Siemens-Martin, high-strength, utilities, and extra-high-strength. Manufactured without welds per ASTM A-363 or with welds per ASTM A-475. Strands are formed to remain substantially in place when severed.

Notes:
Resistance is calculated using ASTM standard increments of stranding and metal conductivity of 61.2% IACS for EC (1350) and 8% IACS for steel. AC (60Hz) resistance includes current dependent hysteresis loss factor for 1 and 3 layer constructions.
Current ratings are based on 75centigrade conductor temperature, 25centigrade ambient, 2ft/s wind, 96/watts/sq. Ft sun, 0.5 coefficients of emissivity and absorption.
