+ How fast do MG Electric bike go ?
For our 250W e-bikes and electric bike conversion kits, 25km/h (EN15194 Standard, applicable in all states and territories). Our off road kits are capable of much higher speeds.
+ How far can you go once full charge ?
The range depends on which MG product you’re on, riding style and terrain. If you are going up hills often, you will get less distance. The ranges vary from 30km up to 80km. The more you pedal to assist the e-bike, the further it will go.
+ Do MG e-bikes make noise ?
No. They are not loud at all. Compared to automobiles or motorcycle engines, an electric bike is virtually silent.
+ Will my MG electric bike go up hill ?
Yes, especially with motor-assist. It will give you more power just when you need it.
+ Do electric bikes charge when you pedal them ?
No, this is not the purpose of having an electric bicycle. The purpose is not to have to pedal harder to charge the bike battery. Instead, the aim is to pedal less and make it easier for you to get around.
Electric bikes don’t have this feature because the effort that the rider puts in to pedaling can only go so far. Either the effort from pedaling is used to assist the bikes motion, or it could charge the battery. Unfortunately there’s no such thing as ‘free energy’ so you could image pedaling an e-bike that is also trying to charge the battery would make it very hard to pedal, as you’d be battling against the resistance of an added generator (not to mention the weight and cost) and also trying to assist the bikes motion. The most efficient use of the rider’s effort is to assist the motor in moving the bike, extended the range.
+ Can the battery be removed on the e bikes ?
Yes the batteries are all locked and the key unlocked the battery for easy removal in 10 seconds.
+ Does MG e bike need servicing ?
There is no more servicing than a standard pedal bike. All of the electrics are sealed so no maintenance is required over and above a standard bike.
