Function of the Vehicle Connection Interface (VCI):

The VCI box connects between the scan tool and the vehicle diagnostic socket. This box has two connections, the DB15 connection and the OBD II connection. The main testing cable connects the scan tool with the DB15 adapter. The OBDII connection is for the OBD adapter. The scan tool with OBDII diagnostic cable connects directly with the vehicle diagnostic socket. The VCI diagnostic box features a Bluetooth connection. This allows the scan tool to connect wirelessly to the vehicle. The

“cable diagnostics” should be changed to “wireless diagnostics” mode on the menu, when

Bluetooth is used. The serial port is used in debugging the scan tool.
