DG3.5B electric tamping machine is adaptable to tamping operation on the main railway lines. It consists of generator set, walker, and four DG3.5B electric picks. Its sub-parts can be carried off the rail easily by workers. It has good mobility, strong excited force beater pick, high vibration frequency, light weight, and good damping effect.

Main structure and operational principle 

DG3.5B electric damping machine consists of gasoline generator set, walker, and four vertical electric picks. When operating, the generator set is fixed on the walker; the cable plug of pick is connected with the switch socket of generator set, and moving together with the generator. The power generated by the generator set is directly supplied to the electric picks. When off the rail, please pull out the plug of pick and put it on the road shoulder. The generator set can be carried off separately, or be carried off together with the walker. This machine is also equipped with set lights, which is convenient for workers to operate in the tunnel or at night. The machine can be equipped with four or eight electric picks for operation; it depends on the amount of work and the manning level.

One end of the flexible shaft is plugged into the round hole of the motor shaft, and the other screw thread end is connected with the hole of rolling cone. After the motor rotating, through the rotation of the flexible shaft, the rolling cone rotates with high speed. The rolling cone rotates itself, and plays planetary motion along with the roller path. Because the diameter of the roller path is larger than the diameter of rolling cone, in the relative motion, the rolling cone jumps and impacts the roller path. The frequency of impact is very high, and the impact force is strong. When touching the ballast, to achieve the tamping effect, the pick forces the ballast to vibrate and realign.
