Kelly valve also called Kelly cock or drill pipe safety valve. It is a manual control valve of
the drilling string circulatory system and one of the effective tools to prevent the blowout.
Kelly valve including the upper kelly valve and lower Kelly valve. Upper Kelly valve is placed
between swivel end and Kelly pipe. while Lower kelly valve is place between kelly pipe end
and top of the drill pipe or kelly pipe protector end. You can turn on of turn off by using special
wrench to rotate 90°. In order to avoid the accidents occurred, the Kelly valve should be used
between the top and the bottom of the kelly pipe. That can be prevent the loss of the drilling
fl uid and the blowout prevent.
