RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector)
are seonsor used to measure temperature by Correlating the resistancenof the RTD element with temperature. Morst RTD elements sonsist of length of fine coiled wirewrappen around a ceramic of glass core. The element is usually quire fragile, so it is offen place inside a sheathed probe to protect it. RTD element is made from a pure matierial whose resistance at vaious temperature has been documented. The material has a predicatable change in resistance as the temperature changes; this predictable change is used to determine temperature.
