Labdanum Absolute is Extracted from the resin using solvent extraction method and has a thick consistency and very strong aroma, with a  balsamic and sweet scent.  

Labdanum is much valued in perfumery because of its proprty resemblance to Ambergris, which has been banned from use in many countries. The Modern use of Labdanum Absolute in place of Ambergris is mainly in most modern perfumes. Labdanum, as a natural substance has similar fixative and base properties like Ambergris.
