Bacterial Vaginosis Diagnostic Kit (Sialidase)

 Lituo Biotech baterial vaginosis diagnotic test is an enzyme activity test for use in the detection of vaginal fluid specimens for sialidase activity, an enzyme produced by bacterial pathogens such as Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides spp., Prevotella spp., and Mobiluncus spp. 

This test is indicated for use in women suspected of having Bacterial vaginosis (BV) infection, e.g., women with vaginal discharge typical of BV and/or women with previous history of BV, as an aid in the diagnosis of BV infection.

Assay Principle

Sialidase is the effective marker of Bacterial Vaginosis. Sialidase takes reaction with specific substrate and release chromogenic substance and sialic acid. The colorless substance takes chromogenic reaction with the specific material. The color will change from transparent or yellow to blue or green (denotes positive). The shade will denote the content of the sialidase. Healthy vagina secreta does not contain sialidase and the chromogenic reaction will not take place. The color will remain transparent or yellow when adding chromogenic reagent. So the color change can be used to diagnose the infection of the Bacterial Vaginosis and its infection degree.
