1. Q: What do I need to provide to get a prototype made?

A: We will accept almost any sketch, drawing, model, computer model or blueprint. Of course, the more technically specific the details the quicker we can produce the prototype. For those who are unsure, we recommend arranging a meeting to discuss the requirements of the prototype and its intended use.

2. Q: What are your design capabilities?

A: We have staff trained in AutoCAD and several design programs. We can work with many different file formats, as well as develop designs based on sketches, drawings, blueprints and other formats.

3. Q: How quickly can a product be produced or repaired?

A: Depending on the workload and the job itself, there is normally a five to ten workday lead-time before a product is made. We do give priority to breakdowns, especially if they are for regular clients who cannot continue aspects of their business without the plastic repairs being carried out. We understand that some of our products are used in machines that operate constantly, are in hard-to-reach places within a system, or are vital to the general running of an operation. 4. Q: What type of polishing services are available?

A: We can offer Power Buffing, Diamond Polishing and Flame Polishing services. Diamond Polishing can be used for straight edges and gives excellent results without the rounded edges often produced by buffing. Flame Polishing is ideal for polishing thin edges of acrylic, especially clear extruded sheet for point-of-sale items because its fast and effective. For a ultimate high gloss finish and for bespoke acrylic shapes we can also hand polish the acrylic parts.

5. Q: What type of cutting services are available?

A: Here is a great way to save time, we can cut any of our standard items into your custom sizes using our on-site cutting facilities. We have various levels of service depending on the quantity required. All you need to do is choose your material and then go to "Cutting Service" to choose the level of service you require. We provide loose cut of any sizes, rollers, fabrications, profiles and moulding to suit your needs. Where special sizes or shapes are required by our customers, we are able to customize these products according to individual requirements.

6. Q: Which would be the best plastics for UV resistance?

A: Most plastics are affected by UV although PTFE provides very good resistance. In other materials, Black offers a reasonable protection option.

7. Q: Which are the best wear resistant plastics?

A: Engineering plastics are exceptionally good at wear and abrasion resistance, UHMWPE and Nylon are particularly good.
