Pellet mill line:
Pelletizing Process of the complete wood pellet production line:
1. Chipping&Crushing:
In the wood pellet plant before raw materials are made into biomass pellets, they are
first reduced into much smaller, uniformly-sized particles. When the thickness is larger than 10 mm or size is greater than 50*50
mm, a wood chipper is needed to chip these materials into smaller pieces. The hammer
mill is then used to further crush these small pieces into particles of less than 3 mm in
diameter.
2. Drying:
After raw materials are crushed a dryer is needed since most raw wood materials have
a moisture content of about 50%. However, the optimal moisture content for pelletiztion
is 13%-15%. Therefore a rotary dryer is included in the wood pellet plant to reduce the
moisture content. After crushing and drying you can begin making wood pellets.
3. Pelletizing:
After crushing and drying the raw material properly it is then ready for the pellet mill.
The pelletizing machine or press is the key piece of machinery in the wood pellet plant.
It should be mentioned that impurities in the raw materials like metal or stone,may
damage the die and rollers of wood pellet making machine.
4.Cooling:
Usually after pelletizing, the temperature of wood pellets is between 60-80 degrees and the moisture content is close to 15%. For storage purposes, a cooler
must be used to reduce their surface temperature and moisture content.
5. Packing:
Finally is the packing process. In order to protect the wood pellets becoming getting
damp and to increase storability, proper packing is necessary. Here we provide you

1. What are pellets and what are their main characteristics?
Pellets are made from fine dry biomass which was run through a pellet machine and
formed into small compressed pellets of different sizes. Pellets can be used as animal
feed, animal bedding or as bio fuel.
2. What are pellets used for?
Biomass pellets are used mainly for heating, while feed pellets are used for animal
feeding.
3. What is the raw materials for ? making fuel pellets?

7. How are the pellets made by the ring die wood sawdust pellet machine ?
Small particle sized material feeding into the pelletizing machine; two rollers will press
the material into the 6mm or 8mm stainless steel ring die to form a solid pellet.
However, different material needs different ring die, mainly depending on the material
compress ratio. We design the appropriate taper and thickness of the die to create
press for the lignin to reach sufficient temperature and bind the material together.
8. Why need to choose right materials use in pellet production line?
Different material has different characteristic, surely their pellet features will be different.
