Abundant oil resources in some extreme regions on earth, such as very cold places, the two poles, deserts, deep-seas and so on.
TPCO has developed different series of pipes for low temperature purposes with grades ranging from 55~150KSI.They can still maintain good impact ductility at low temperatures of -40°C~-80°C which can meet user’s requirements.
1)API 5CT latest edition at time of manufacture (PSL-1, PSL-2, PSL, 3)
2)ISO 13680-2000 Petroleum and natural gas industries-Corrosion-resistant alloy seamless tubes for use as casing, tubing and coupling stock-Technical delivery conditions
3)GOST 632-80 Specification of Casing Pipe and Couplings form THEM

The low temperature pipe series of different steel grades have to undergo quenching and tempering and the metallographic structure attained is the tempered sortite whose structure is fine and uniform. The grain size must not be less than 7.5 for finished pipes of the 80~110 ksi grade series and not less than 8.0 for the 125~150ksi series.
TPCO’s pipes of different series for low temperature wells have the features of stable mechanical properties at normal atmospheric temperature, good impact ductility at low temperature, meeting API 5CT’S requirement in size tolerance, fine and uniform microstructure and the comprehensive performances are in the world leading rank. Their technical priorities are embodied in the following aspects:
1. Quality scraps with low P,S content and molten iron are used for steel making and harmful elements and inclusions be reduced to the lowest content possible. Ca treatment of spheroidizing inclusions and sufficient VD time ensure improving steel cleanliness and purity. The alloy elements of Cr, Mo, Ni, V, Nb are added for pipes of high grades to improve material strength and ductility and impact property at low temperature.
2. The production startup of 3 plants, i.e. the 168 new pipe mill, 460 large pipe mill and 258 rolling mill ensures that TPCO can supply all specifications required by the domestic and international markets. Furthermore, the company owns the world’s most advanced PQF (Premium Quality Finishing) mill that can produce wall-thickness accuracy within ±10%, and the cold-rolling and cold-drawing plant ±7.5%, all in the lead in the pipe industry.
3. TPCO has an advanced head treatment system where temperature control of the quenching and tempering furnaces is very accurate and fluctuation is very small. The water cooling system adopts exterior showering , interior spraying, pipe rotation and other means to ensure good harden ability and structural uniformity of pipes. Instant straightening will be carried out as soon as the pipe leaves the tempering furnace to reduce residual stress and improve product performance.
Issued in accordance with API Specification 5CT Eighth Edition. Additional Third Party Inspection can also be performed on request.
