The material in the mid infrared band also has higher transmittance, but the absorption and scattering will enhancement with shorter wavelength .Compared with zinc selenide(ZnSe), zinc sulfide (ZnS) has low price, high hardness, twice fracture strength than theZnSe (ZnSe), resistance to harsh environment capability.
