Tubular turbine is applicable for the hydropower station with strong and low hydraulic head, the applicable hydraulic head is commonly from 4 to 25m.The structure is simple,maintenance is easy. because of the horizontal-axis type and simple flow channel design, compared with the same scale turbine, the building projects of tubular turbine is less about 20% and efficiency is more than about 30% and electrical equipment budget saving about 15%. Because the construction is convenient, construction period is short, tubular turbine has been widely used at plains and the tidal power generation of coastal areas.
