Description of Brass Wire Mesh

 

1.Material: Brass wire, phosphor bronze wire, or copper wire.

 

  1>Introduction of brass wire

High brass (70% copper, 30% zinc) wire and low brass (80% copper, 20% zinc) wire have much better abrasion resistance, better corrosion resistance and lower electrical conductivity when compared to copper wire.

 

  2>Introduction of phosphor bronze wire
This copper-tin (4 to 9% tin, approximately 0.25% phosphorous, with the balance copper) alloy wire is resistant to corrosion and wear and tear.
It was frequently used in the past for manufacturing of fine mesh cloth.

  3>Introduction of copper wire
Copper wire offers excellent electrical and thermal conductivity.
It is non-magnetic,anti-sparking and is resistant to atmospheric corrosion, salt air and pper applications are limited due to its low tensile strength, and poor resistance to abrasion and common acids.

2.Description of brass wire cloth & copper wire cloth
 

  1>Brass wire cloth:

Brass wire cloth is excellent for marine and outdoor applications due to its immunity to rusting and salt solutions.
Brass wire mesh and cloth is an ideal mesh for fabricating gasoline filters and baskets for electro-polishing.
It possesses greater strength than copper or bronze.

  2>Copper wire cloth:

The primary usage of copper in wire cloth are in those application requiring corrosion resistance, electrical and thermal conductivity, spark resistance and non-magnetic.

 

3.Weaving method: Plain weaving or twill weaving.
