History
These tassels are made by the Kutchi people from the state of Rajasthan in India, southwest of Pakistan and southern Afghanistan, a primarily desert area. While the landscape is quite bleak the traditional dress of the women of the region is highly colorful as are the decorative elements used to embellish the dress. Tassels such as these were and are used to decorate traditional costumes and animal decoration.
This style of tassel is typically between 25 to 40 years old and can exhibit some signs of wear. They are great additions to tribal bellydance belts and are good for other costuming purposes
