Fullerene (C60) is a carbon allotrope, diamond-like structure of C60 that resembles a soccer ball. It does exist in nature, but was not known until Novel prize discovery in 1985. (Nobel prize in 1996 Chemistry) In 1990’s, scientists found fullerene is an excellent anti-oxidant material, and thus it was used for the development of world-first cosmetic ingredient with Fullerene named “Radical Sponge™ (RS)”" Lipofullerene(LF)". Since its introduction to the market in year 2005, RS and LF rapidly captured popularity of users as effective and safe ingredient for whitening, anti-aging, and more. To prevent the skin from aging requires to erase the active oxygen by anti oxidant such as Fullerene.

 

                   

Fullerene (Water-soluble) and Lipofullerne (Oil-soluble) have an excellent anti-oxidant power. They stop the activity of radical molecules which give damage against the skin organization. Therefore, they have the effectiveness of anti-aging by skin damage prevention and whitening by restoration of melanin accumulation. It is said that anti-oxidant power of fullerene is 172 times stronger than that of Vitamin C. Damage prevention power is 125 times stronger than that of Vitamin C.
