Operating principle
Because pulp, grinding medium and liner are in direct contact, the conventional wear of ball mill liner is mainly the wear among steel ball, liner and mineral as well as electrochemical corrosion. But the wear of magnetic liner in alternating arrangement is not the same, magnetic liners are installed on the inner wall to form a curved surface magnetic system with sufficient strong magnetic field.
In the working process, crushed steel balls and magnetic minerals are magnetized on the liner surface to form a protection layer of steel balls. For the newly installed magnetic liner, the workers can add crushed balls, crushed iron or iron powder to form a 20-30mm protection layer on the liner surface. The protection layer is firmly magnetized on the liner surface, which prevents the direct contact of grinding medium and magnetic liner, reduces mechanical wear and electrochemical corrosion of grinding medium to the liner and extends the service life of liner greatly. The magnetic liner is called “the surpassing wear resistant liner” at home and abroad. Generally, the service life of magnetic liner is over several times or even 10 times as high manganese steel liner.

1. The material of metal protection case& production technology
It is a kind of special non-magnetic steel developed by our researchers, which consists of special military alloy steel and some necessary metal elements with acid resistance, alkali resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Without any obstruction of magnetism, its strong magnetic permeability makes the formative protection layer have sufficient strength and thickness to guarantee adequate service life. Non-magnetic steel adopts EPC lost-foam vacuum suction casting technology, the metal is uniform compact and the shape has accurate dimensions, which can effectively guarantee the contact rate of magnetic liner and shell reaching over 95%.
2.The texture of the magnetic material
Based on years of experience and through the strict selection, our factory chooses the magnetic material with stable performance and reliable quality to guarantee product quality. In some vulnerable parts, we add some ferromagnetic material, such as neodymium (Nd), ferrum (Fe) and boron (B).
3. Waterproof glue
Our factory adopts a kind of imported waterproof glue, whose strong adhesive power bonds together magnetic block and protection layer firmly. With good water resistance, it is coated on the surface of magnetic block to play a role of waterproof. The waterproof glue layer has sufficient strength to prevent the damage in transportation, installation and using process.
Product performance
1. Long service life
In the second and third compartment of ball mill, for iron ore grinding, the service life of magnectic liner is 4-6 years; for nonferrous metal ore grinding, its service life is 2-4 years.
2. Low electricity consumption
It has light weight, which is 40-50% of high manganese steel liner, so the electricity consumption can be lowered by 7-10%.
3. Low ball consumption
Its steel ball consumption is 10% lower than high manganese steel liner.
4. Easy installation
In normal condition, it can be installed within one day to lighten the labor intensity.
5. The best operating environment: (1) Medium temperature 0 °C-100 °C (2) Steel ball diameter ≤ 60mm
