What is Low-E hollow glass?
Low-E hollow glass (also called low emissivityglass) is a kind of glass with its surface coated with multi-layers metal or other compounds. The coated layer exhibits high transmittance to visible light and high reflection rate to mid-far infrared ray. Therefore, compared with ordinary glass and traditional coated glass used in buildings, Low-E hollow glass exhibits excellent heat insulation property and good light-admitting quality.
Comparison between single-silver Low-E glass and double-silver Low-E glass
Double-silver Low-E glass is able to resist more heat from solar radiation compared with single Low-E glass. In other words, under the same light transmittance, the former shows lower shading coefficient (Sc) and higher capability to turn sunlight into cool light source to the maximum extent.
Besides, the heat transfer coefficient of the former is lower than the latter, which means a higher thermal isolation capability of the exterior window and a perfect indoor climate of being cool in summer and warm in winter. To put it in a simpler manner, as double-silver Low-E glass greatly reduces the heat exchange activities of indoor and outdoor environments through the window, the air conditioner can keep its ready mode for a longer time when the indoor temperature reached the set temperature in its air heating or refrigerating functioning and therefore more energy is saved.

Advantages of double-silver Low-E glass
1. Under the same setting, double-silver Low-E glass shows lower heat radiance and heat transfer coefficient (U value).
2. Double-silver Low-E glass displays lower shading coefficient(Sc).
3. Under the same shading coefficient (Sc), double-silver Low-E glass displays higher light transmittance. In short, double-silver glass puts more weight on the shading functioning to solar radiation and exhibits higher remittance and lower heat radiation transfer. It provides an excellent solution for co-existence of high translucency and low U value and Sc value for glasses and is of better energy-saving effect. Such superiority is unavailable for other kinds of glasses.
