Using this method, each rack will hold 32-36 tires. The advantages are that each tire is easily accessible and different tire makers, sizes and types can be stored in the same rack.

Measuring 90” in length, this rack fits perfectly into a trailer for shipping. In order to make full use of the height in a standard trailer, 2 open racks can be stacked, for a height of 103”. As a result, a 53” trailer can take 28 racks (14 deep and 2 high) for a total of 224 to 280 heavy truck tires. Empty racks can be easily folded down and stacked up to 22 high for the return trip. In addition, the side ramps will secure the tires through rough rides.

 

Military and aerospace applications

The storage rack has been specially designed for tires used in military and aerospace vehicles. This extremely strong rack has a heavier load limit – 3,500 lbs – than regular tire racks. The side ramp is particularly useful for the very heavy tires used in these fields.

The leg wrappers mounted in each corner allow a single employee to easily fold the tire rack. Fork guides on all four sides are a useful feature for preventing the rack from shifting during forklift handling. Tapered lugs facilitate stacking.
