The origin of the steel sand barrier

Due to the effect of wind transport, deposition and coagulation,in desert area, the road and railway is likely to be buried by sand, which will affect the normal traffic, or even cause traffic disruption, facing poor natural conditions. Before using the steel sand barrier, people plant trees, shrub and grass along the road to prevent the wind and fix the sand. But due to drought and water shortage, the survival rate of these plants is low and the cost of maintenance is big. It is difficult to solve the problem of sand resistance and sand damage fundamentally. Taking the advantage of aerodynamics and the force of wind, steel sand barrier reduces the capability of wind transport and deposition by blocking the sand and deflecting the wind, thereby the road is effectively prevented from sand burial. 

The principle of the steel sand barrier

Steel sand barrier is mostly sand accumulation type sand barrier. The sand prevention principle is mainly as follows: on the sand flow route, no matter any sand barrier is encountered, wind speed will be reduced. Part of sand carried by wind will be deposited in front and behind the sand barrier. Thus the capacity of wind transport of sand is reduced so as to achieve the effect of sand control. In addition, vertical sand barrier can be designed in multiline to get a better desertification prevent and control.

Application of the steel sand barrier

1. Steel sand barrier can solve the problem of sedimentary sand to bury railway and highway going through desert.

2. Fix the mobile dune and semi-mobile dune by steel sand barrier.

3. Sand prevention for buildings in desert area. Sand dust in desert region will affect the lives of local residents. Hard sand dust entering into the equipments will increase the wear of machine. A proper set sand barrier will partly solve the problem of sand dust.
