Lockable Gas Springs
Lockable gas springs can be locked anywhere along the complete stroke. By pushing the release pin, the piston valve opens allowing gas or oil to flow through the piston and the piston rod extends or can be pushed in. When the release pin is no longer being pushed, the valve closes independently and the piston rod is locked in the desired position.
When locked, depending on the type of construction, extension force and the direction of the movement, various locking forces can be achieved. When the locking force is exceeded, the locking function is no longer given.

Gas springs are a proven and reliable method of counterbalancing covers, flaps and objects. A gas spring is an energy-storage device filled with nitrogen. A gas spring stores energy by compressing the nitrogen gas within the gas spring. While the gas spring is compressed, the gas chamber volume is reduced due to the intrusion of the shaft into the gas spring tube; thereby causing the gas pressure to rise-storing more energy. This stored energy produces a force in the extension direction making the gas spring extend. More versatile than mechanical springs, TIEYING Gas Springs offer the advantages of speed-controlled dampening, cushioned end motion, simple mounting, compact size, at force curve, and a wide range of available forces.
